Olivier Lafon and Frédérique Pourpoint presenting the CDP project to representatives of our institutions.

The institutional kick-off meeting for the CDP IMMENSE project took place on May 22, 2026 at the Michel-Eugène Chevreul Institute

This meeting provided an opportunity to present the scientific and technological challenges of the project to the institutional stakeholders involved in the CDP IMMENSE and to discuss the project’s implications for research and transfer with the teams involved.
The CDP IMMENSE project, funded by the University of Lille’s Excellence Initiative, aims to develop new non-invasive tools for imaging the distribution of chemical species in organs and materials used to produce or store energy, by leveraging magnetic resonance, the technology on which MRI is based. These tools will improve the diagnosis of neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s disease, and psychiatric disorders, as well as help understand the aging of batteries and solar panels in order to extend their lifespan. This project brings together researchers from various disciplines (medicine, chemistry, biology, materials science, artificial intelligence) affiliated with several laboratories and platforms at the Lille site (UCCS, BSI, LASIRE, LilNCog , IMEC , PLBS), who are working together on these issues using state-of-the-art magnetic resonance equipment, including 1200 MHz NMR and 263 GHz EPR spectrometers, as well as a 7 T MRI scanner for whole-body imaging.
