Project

The scientific objectives of the project

This action aims at training participants to the project, and notably the junior scientists (PhD, postdoc) hired in the project as well as students of the University of Lille but also at sharing knowledge and knowhow with academic and industrial scientists and allow that knowledge to be built upon to increase IMMENSE scientific and economic impacts.

WP coordinator: Dr. F. Pourpoint

Participants: BSI, Institut Chevreul, Lasire, LilNCog, PLBS, UCCS

  • Task 1.1: Internal training
  • Task 1.2: Strengthening higher education in Lille
  • Task 1.3: External training activities for students, academic and industrial researchers
  • Task 1.4 Scientific output publication and sharing
  • Task 1.5 Conferences

Novel NMR pulse sequence for physiological mixture analysis and quantification for direct application in MRS of the human brain. There are three technical routes to explore, as subdivided in the different tasks below (4.1-4.3). Each task will follow a similar workflow: (1) design and optimize these methods using liquid-state NMR at high magnetic field, with the specific technical restrictions of MRS in mind; (2) adapt these sequences to include spatial selection elements; (3) evaluate/optimize them in vitro for quantification on physiological mixtures with protein background representative for what is found in the human brain; (4) implement these sequences on MRI instruments, adapting the experimental setup to the specific technical constraints of instruments. All methods will be benchmarked against existing MRS methods.

WP coordinator: Dr. D. Sinnaeve
